Just for the record the reason Bush approval ratings was so high at that point was partly because the misinformation that was provided to the American people taking us into the war in Iraq. Once people started to realize that there was no WMD's and no real reason for us being there. No reason that was a positive thing for THIS country.
What has being in Iraq done to make America better? Why do we continue to police the world? Spending trillions of dollars on wars for what? We can not afford to do this. The only thing in the middle east we should have ever been concerned with is finding and taking out Bin Laden and al-Queda. After 8 years of Bush, this could have been completed. Hell, after 4 years of Bush it should have been done with. We should keep out of the middle east. Being over there brews the hatred for us further. Not only just there, but around the world.
Some of us may not feel the effects of the economy, or the pinch of high gas prices and rising food costs. Though anyone who is going to be retiring around 20 years from now will feel it if this irrational foreign policy continues. If someone like John McCain truly keeps us in Iraq for another 4 years, or another 8 years( he said he would keep us there for 100 years if he had too) then there will be no Social Security, your retirement investments will not grow like they are capable, and you will not be able to devote as much money to retirement. Look forward to working until you die.
